The Phantom Radio Stations of Canadian National Railways

By Ken Reitz KS4ZR

In the early 20th century, two industries helped shape the economics and the progress of technology across the North America continent—the railroads and the radio industry. By 1927 in Canada, they began to merge with the establishment of a special radio network that served the passengers and the people who lived along the routes of Canadian National Railways.

Choyong WT2 Radio: More features than you might want in a radio

By Georg Wiessala

The new WT2 portable radio continues an emerging line of Choyong radios combining the traditional with the more contemporary—in this case, AM and HF radio reception with amateur radio and internet radio. By Dr. Scott A. Caldwell

Ignoring the derision shown her in newspaper accounts of her success, she dominated the popular radio press as millions of women tuned in to hear her one of her 30,000+ daily interviews.

Life on the Low End of 2 Meters

By Cory GB Sickles WA3UVV

Ask the average ham to describe the 2-meter band and they will probably start with FM mode, repeaters, their favorite digital voice methodology, and APRS. But most won’t immediately give thought to what goes on in the lower part of the band where CW, SSB, amateur satellite and Earth-Moon-Earth communications thrive.
